WHAT WE DO
Eric Malcolmson is an accomplished hotel real estate professional with 18 years of hands-on consulting experience in planning, advising and executing complex hotel real estate acquisitions and development projects. He is experienced in all aspects of hotel investment and development including project feasibility and valuations, portfolio strategy and hold/sell analysis, managing complex real estate transactions, management and franchise contract negotiation, deal structuring and capital sourcing, planning and overseeing major capital renovation and repositioning projects, hotel design review, development of large mixed-use projects, managing hotel pre-opening/transition processes and ongoing asset management. Eric has extensive experience with completing assignments and transactions in Canada and the United States as well as internationally.
Prior to joining HLT Advisory, Eric was a Principal in G7 Hospitality Group Inc., a Toronto-based boutique hotel asset management and advisory firm. He was formerly Vice President of Development for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International ("FRHI") where he was responsible for sourcing opportunities for Raffles, Fairmont and Swiss˘tel brands and successfully negotiated contracts for 20 luxury hotel and resort properties with an aggregate real estate value in excess of US$3.5 billion. Prior to FRHI, Eric worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for six years focused on hotel advisory and corporate finance assignments and was with Colliers International Hotel Realty where he assisted with the divestiture of over sixty hotel assets.
Eric has a BComm in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada) and is an avid sailor and skier.
