Acquisition of Dominion Twin Rinks, Oakville (2007)

HLT acted as financial advisor to the Town of Oakville in their acquisition of Dominion Twin Rinks. The facility contained two ice pads (both with seating), a full-service restaurant overlooking both ice pads, meeting rooms, a concession stand and pro-shop. The facility was being sold under a court appointed Receivership sale process. Multiple interested parties and bids were submitted to the Receiver. HLT assessed the historic operations of the facility and provided strategic advice to the Town related to the sale process, pricing strategy and assisted in the negotiation process resulting in the successful acquisition of the arena. The transaction price was approximately $7.5 million. The original capital cost to build the two-year old facility was approximately $12.0 million. Post acquisition the facility was renamed Joshua Creek Arenas.
